Her love life, on the other hand, hasn't been exactly where she wants it. It doesn't help that she's much more reserved when it comes to relationships than other women her age.

What she doesn't know is that her new boss has more plans for Kimberly than just being his assistant. And to top things off, Kimberly finds herself in a fateful encounter with Gaige Grayson, a powerful werebear who immediately imprints on Kimberly.

From having a great job to suddenly being lodged between two extremely powerful, rich, and dangerous men. Kimberly's life just got a whole lot more complicated.

Vamps and shifters and a BBW - can it get any better?
By The Reading Librarian
I received a copy of this book from the author for a free and impartial review. Thanks!

I have to say that when I first began to read Rivals - A BBW Paranormal Shape Shifter Romance: Episode One, my heart sank. The reasons? Well, first and foremost I hate serials that come in so many parts. Give me the whole story in one go or at least a really huge chunk that doesn’t end with a cliffhanger, which this story does. If you hate cliffhangers as much as I do, then you might not like this story or be prepared to wait until the entire thing is available so that you can read it in one go.

The other thing I hate is writing in the first person. I read stories written in the first person if I have to, but I prefer not to. That is just my personal preference. I am also not a fan of the POV of each character, so right away this author has hit all of my buttons that in any other instance would see me putting the story down. The other thing I am also tiring of is the billionaire trope– and in this one both of the male leads are rich. I know that some will say that if you have lived for as long as the vamps and shifters have you will have acquired a lot but really both billionaires? However these are all my issues with stories, any stories like this, not just M.G. Walkers story.

Anyway, I volunteered to read this story and so I had to get over my issues and read. I have to say that despite my misgivings this story had me hooked – hook, line and sinker. The author has a very unique take on vampires and shifters in the world and what their roles are and how humans now fit into that world, since the reveal.

I do love shifters and vampires and combining them and making them enemies and yet also putting Kimberly in between a shifter and a vamp makes for an interesting read. Kimberly works as an assistant to Xavier Thorn, a billionaire vampire. The vamp links with her and Gaige, the shifter imprints her. So, that puts them all at odds with each other and Kimberley in the middle of a feud that she doesn’t know anything about. She also has no idea of the imprinting or the linking, so she is unaware of any of this or the consequences. This installment ends with Kimberly finding out what the feud is about but being with Gaige has also put her in danger – danger that Xavier saves her from but there is a lot left unexplained.
There are some hot and sexy scenes as Gaige and Kimberly go on their date, before all goes to hell in a hand basket and what makes this story even more intriguing is that Kimberly feels something for both Gaige and Xavier, so where does that leave her?

I will have to find out the answer to that question when I read the next installment of this story, because despite this hitting all my triggers as mentioned above, I am invested in these characters and want to find out how M.G. Walker is going to resolve the enmity between the vampire and the shifter and how Kimberly fits in.

Too short for $$
By Amazon Customer
I liked episode one and glad it was free. However, it's extortion to charge $2.99 for the 2nd and third episode which have a combined page total of what...210 pages??? Seriously. I'm an avid reader and you just lost my future business because of your obscene price structure. Get over yourself.

Interesting

This was an interesting read. I like the idea of the episodes within a season for books(its a new take). That being said I wish it was one book. I am so over these books being a 30-40 minute read. Just give me all of them at once. Don't get me wrong I like short reads if it's a full story.
This book was ok. I had to force myself to read all the parts and not to just skip over bits to get to more enjoyable parts. I can't say if I like that characters or not I have not read enough of the series to see who's side I would be on one form any sort of attachment. I am interested to see how it turns out, but I think I will be doing that by reading reviews.
I would recommend this book if you are into this type of story and quick reads that are part of a series.

Judging a book... the cover was pretty spot on. I got what expected, a love triangle. But you would know it was a supernatural book by the cover. It just looks like another 50 shades knock off. I give this cover 4/5
